    Assembly

Ophthalmology face shield are shipped in parts that require assembly and mounting to ophthalmoscope, but both are easy.

    1. Remove protective film (typically blue) from both sides of lens.
    2. Attach top bar (longer piece) to top of lens where there are four (4) holes.
    3. Attach curved stabilizer (shorter piece) to bottom of lens where there are three (3) holes.
    4. Unscrew each eyepiece from your headgear.
    5. Align cutouts on lens with headgear and screw in eyepieces to secure.

    Cleaning & Longevity

Our ophthalmology face shields are reusable and should last through many cleanings.

We suggest you remove the lens from the ophthalmoscope to clean it, for the safety of your device.

We recommend cleaning with 70% isopropyl alcohol or sanitizing wipes. We encourage you to test out your cleaning solution on a corner of the lens first. We have also seen good results with hydrogen peroxide wipes or a light bleach solution. We recommend avoiding alcohol at higher concentrations (above 70%), which may cause premature clouding of the lens.

The lens will eventually get cloudy from repeated cleanings but this should occur long before the actual plastic deteriorates or loses much strength. Other parts of the face shield should last longer.
